The Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship 2024-2025 is a fully-funded scholarship for international students. Scholarships are available for master’s, doctoral and post-doctoral studies. This scholarship provides monthly payments. Waives tuition, health insurance, and airfare. and housing costs

Swiss scholarships are sponsored by the Federal Commission of Scholarships (FCS) in cooperation with the Swiss government. The Swiss Government Scholarship offers scholarships to more than 180 countries. Participants of any nationality are eligible. Highly qualified postgraduate researchers from all fields of study as well as junior doctors can apply for this scholarship.

Types of Swiss government

Scholarship Protection

  • For non-EU and non-EFTA grantees only: FCS will pay for mandatory Swiss health insurance.

Eligibility Criteria for the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships

To qualify for the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship, applicants must meet all of the following requirements below:

  • Required language: English.
  • Eligible Countries: All countries around the world
  • Master’s degree or equivalent university degree obtained before 31 July 2024 (degree certificate) recognized by a Swiss university. as evidence Qualifications must be submitted to the Federal Commission for Scholarships before the scholarship can begin.
  • Applicants must be born after December 31, 1989.
  • Applicants who have been in Switzerland for more than one year at the start of the scholarship in September are not eligible.
  • Applicants must provide a letter from the host academic professor. (including a short biography her/his) at the chosen Swiss university. To ascertain why she/he is willing to oversee and support the research. If there is no such support The application will be rejected.
  • Applicants must have a research proposal with a time frame. This is the heart of the application. The candidate must devote all necessary attention to it.
  • Applicants must have the language skills required for research/study.
  • Applicants who have already benefited from the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship are not eligible to apply for a second scholarship.
  • The scholarship holder is expected to move to Switzerland during the scholarship period.

How to apply for the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship?

Please follow the following application instructions for Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships:

(1) Prepare the following documents:

  1. Signed FCS application form (typed and typed) with
  2. Full CV With a list of academic publications, awards,
  3. motivation letter (maximum 2 pages)
  4. Complete research proposal (maximum 5 pages, signed) using only FCS research proposals.
  5. Copy of letter from the host academic professor (including a short personal history her/his) at the chosen Swiss university. To ascertain why she/he is willing to oversee and support the research.
  6. Short CV of the academic advisor at the home institution
  7. Two of them are secret. Recommendation letter from two professors in the applicant’s field (Only FCS Reference Form – Original in Sealed Envelope for Set 1 will be used.) No copies will be available for Set 2.
  8. Copies of certificates and grade sheets from previously attended universities/colleges. and diploma with grades Starting from the latest If not in English, French, Italian or German, with a certified translation into English. No need to submit the original certificate.
  9. Signed medical certificate (Use only FCS health certificate form)
  10. Two copies of the applicant’s passport (Home page with personal information) Dual nationals add copies of both passports. Applicants who are already in Switzerland during the application process must add a copy of their residence permit for Switzerland.

(2) The application package can accept the Swiss representative of your country.

(3) Please submit 2 sets of application documents (=1 original + 1 copy) in the order listed below: Set 1 includes the original signed documents along with a confidential letter of recommendation. and if there is a certified translation into English The other set is a copy of Set 1, except for the confidential introductory letter (only Set 1). There is no copy for Set 2.
