The Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program 2024-2025 is a fully-funded undergraduate and graduate scholarship for international students. The scholarship covers full tuition, living expenses, travel and health insurance.
The Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program is open to students from Egypt to pursue a bachelor’s or master’s degree at a top US university. These are bestowed on the basis of character and morality as described through academic intelligence. Entrepreneurial initiative and extracurricular activities The scholarship includes full tuition, living allowance, travel allowance and health insurance. Scholarship recipients will also have the option to pursue an internship within the company.
Orascom Construction launched the Onsi Sawiris Project in 2000 to invest company resources in educational projects. To improve the communities in which the company operates This program is an example in Egypt for private sector participation in educational projects on a supported basis. The objective is to help the academic development and character building of Egyptian youth by giving them the tools to develop their careers and contribute to the communities in which they live.
Preference will be given to applicants who have not lived, studied or worked abroad for an extended period of time. The Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program is awarded only to these universities: University of Chicago, Stanford University, Harvard University. and the University of Pennsylvania

Eligibility Criteria for the Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program
To be eligible for the Onsi Sawiris Scholarship, you must:
For undergraduate students:
- He was an Egyptian who lived in Egypt. (Dual nationality applicants will not be given preferential treatment.)
- Plan to begin studies in the USA in 2025.
- Have a commitment to return to Egypt for two years directly after completing a bachelor’s degree.
- Haven’t lived abroad for more than 3 years.
- iBT TOEFL: 100 and up
- GPA 3.5 / 90% in Thanaveya Amma Certificate (second year) or equivalent certificate
- Minimum SAT Score I:
- Old SAT (before May 2017): Overall: 2100 Reading: 700 Math: 700 Writing: 700
- New SAT (after May 2017): Overall: 1450 Evidence-Based Reading and Writing: 730 Math: 730
- or SAT II in 3 subjects: 600 or higher
- Are there any extracurricular activities?
For master’s degree:
- He was an Egyptian who lived in Egypt. (Preference will be given to non-dual nationals)
- Plan to pursue a master’s degree at one of the top universities in the United States in Business Administration or Engineering.
- Haven’t lived abroad for more than 3 years.
- Have a commitment to return to Egypt for two years directly after completing a bachelor’s degree.
- TOEFL: iBT = 100 or higher
- GPA : 3.5 / Very good or higher (overall grade)
- At least three years of work experience
- MBA – GMAT: 650 or higher (taken within 5 years)

Important Note:
- Applicants with an Egyptian master’s degree in a technical field different from the field of application will be considered.
- Applicants who already have a master’s degree from a foreign university or having a master’s degree in Egypt in the same field as the application will not be considered.
- Selection as a nominee for the Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program does not guarantee acceptance by the university. Applicants are only encouraged to apply for the approved universities below. If nominated for a scholarship Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program awards will be awarded upon acceptance by the university.
- Preference will be given to applicants who have not lived, worked or studied abroad for a significant period of time.
- The Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program is awarded to a list of accredited universities only.
